Rising Waters in Lindesberg: Public Alert Issued

Heavy rainfall has hit Bergslagen. Now, the water levels are so high that Linde Energi is warning the residents of Lindesberg. “Exercise caution near lakes and waterways,” the energy company states in a press release.

110 millimeters of rain fell from September 1st until last Wednesday.

The recent weeks of heavy precipitation have resulted in unusually high water levels in Lindesberg municipality.

“There are large volumes of water moving at high speed,” says Linus Söderman, head of electricity production at Linde Energi, in a statement.

The company is channeling as much water as possible through power stations and dams but urges the public to ensure that boats and docks are securely anchored.

“So that they do not break loose and end up in front of our dam gates, which would limit our discharge capacity at the facilities,” says Linus Söderman.

Meanwhile, everyone is advised to be cautious when moving near lakes or waterways. The water continues to rise.

“Cottage owners should check on their cabins. We are working intensively to keep water levels in check.”
