Renowned SVT Journalist and Actress Birgitta Alm Passes Away at 87

TV journalist and actress Birgitta Alm has passed away after a short illness, her daughter Johanna Björkman confirmed to TT.

Born in 1937, Birgitta Alm began her career as an actress. Following her film debut in “Blondie, Biffen och Bananen” in 1952, she also took part in the Swedish dubbing of “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” in 1961.

In the 1960s, she joined SVT's societal editorial team as a producer, editor, and reporter. She worked on programs such as “Brännpunkt” and “Aktuellt i veckan” and was instrumental in launching “Studio S”.

In 1982, she became a reporter for “Aktuellt” and in the 1990s, she served as the program's editor.

Birgitta Alm was 87 years old.
