Police Warn of Fake Lindex Ads

Beware of fake Lindex ads. The police are urging caution after receiving numerous reports of fraud in recent days. Several clothing buyers have been scammed out of money.

Since August 15, the police in the northern region have received a total of twelve reports of fraud related to ads that appear to be from the clothing chain Lindex.

However, these ads are fake.

"People have purchased clothes as usual and paid with credit cards. After that, they have lost money without receiving any clothes," the police stated in a press release.

The affected individuals reside in the counties of Västernorrland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten, but the police want to issue the warning nationwide.

Fake Ads on Social Media

The ads in question have appeared on social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. They advertise clothing sales at Lindex, but when clicked, they lead to a fake website that closely resembles the real one.

"Victims have been directed to fake sites with addresses like 'lindex.outlone.shop' or 'lindex.autosale.shop'," the police wrote, urging everyone to always check website addresses before making purchases:

"Does the address look strange - are there any odd letters or English phrases? Think twice to avoid being scammed!"
