Police Criticize Reckless Parking at Jönköping's Beaches

The police are not impressed with the residents of Jönköping. At several beaches, crucial roads have been blocked, preventing rescue vehicles from accessing the area. Now, the police are urging the public to reconsider their parking choices.

The lakes in Jönköping County have been under heavy pressure during the heatwave, with parking lots at several beaches completely full.

This has led to people parking haphazardly near the lakes, according to the police.

On Tuesday, a patrol visited Lake Tahesjön outside Taberg, where they found several cars blocking important roads.

The road used by police and rescue services in case of an accident was completely blocked, according to the police.

"One car even parked in front of the barrier that clearly marks the rescue route," the police wrote on their website.

Police's Stern Warning

The patrol managed to issue four fines before people came running to move their cars.

The same situation occurred at a beach by Lake Västersjön, where about ten parking fines were issued.

Now, the police are urging the public to think twice before parking incorrectly at a beach.

"It's a matter of life and health if an accident occurs, and it's likely that few car owners would want a serious accident or a death on their conscience because they couldn't be bothered to park properly," they wrote.
