Phone Snatched During Confrontation with Dumpen
During a confrontation with Dumpen, a man snatched Sara Nilsson's phone and ran away. The man jumped into a car and fled the scene.
"I know who you are," shouted Sara Nilsson, editor of Dumpen, after him.
The confrontation was published last week, where Sara Nilsson met a man in western Sweden who had been engaging in inappropriate chats with one of Dumpen's fictitious children.
The man had been persistently asking for nude photos from the fictitious girl and even offered to pay for them, which was supposed to happen at the meeting.
During Dumpen's confrontation with the man, Sara Nilsson barely managed to say "Hi" before he took her phone and fled the scene.
Runs Towards a Car and Drives Away
"I know who you are, and you're committing theft by taking the phone," shouted Sara Nilsson after the man as he ran towards a car and drove away.
"I'm quite used to them doing this, so normally I hold onto the phone very tightly. On this particular day, I was a bit lax," Sara Nilsson explains.
Dumpen tracked the phone via a mapping service and simultaneously called 112. It was later found discarded deep in a forest area.
The man was reported for aggravated theft and vandalism.
"It doesn't happen often that we report the perpetrators for crimes against us. Sometimes it's a threat that gets reported, but otherwise, we avoid it," says Sara Nilsson.
Happened to Patrik Sjöberg Before
It wasn't the first time Dumpen had a phone taken during a confrontation. On another occasion, a man took a phone from Patrik Sjöberg.
"But he regretted it and put the phone down before running off. It's something we have to expect. But it doesn't really achieve much," says Sara Nilsson.
She explains that Dumpen can both track their phones and remotely erase all material on them.
