Those with a few million dollars to spare can now own a piece of Mars. The meteorite, weighing 25 kilograms, will be auctioned on Wednesday during Sotheby's scientific event, Geek Week.

The meteorite, NWA 16788, is the largest from Mars ever found on Earth.

According to Sotheby's in New York, the meteorite is believed to have been blasted off Mars' surface by an asteroid impact and traveled 225 million kilometers to Earth, crashing in the Sahara Desert. It was discovered by a meteorite hunter in Niger in November 2023, Sotheby's reports.

The stone is expected to sell for between two and four million dollars, equivalent to 19 to 38 million Swedish kronor.

At the same time, a two-meter-high and three-meter-long dinosaur skeleton will also be auctioned.
