At 18:44 on Tuesday evening, the police were alerted to an address in Hisingen, Gothenburg, due to a serious violent crime.
– It is an ongoing operation, and I cannot provide more details at the moment. I am gathering information to be able to give a bit more, but I have nothing more to say right now, says Christian Brattgård, press spokesperson at the West police region, to Expressen on Tuesday evening.
The murder involves a man in his 30s linked to the southern side of the over ten-year-long, bloody conflict between northern and southern Biskopsgården, according to information from GP and SVT.
– The murder of him is suspected to be revenge for the recent double murder where two people on the northern side were killed, says SVT's crime reporter Diamant Salihu to SVT News.
A week ago, two men were shot dead while sitting in a car parked in a garage in Lunden.
Believed to Have Been Shot from the Backseat
The police believe they were shot in the back of the heads by a person sitting in the backseat, according to information from Expressen.
– It can only be interpreted in one way: execution. It is a classic mafia method, as old as the car itself. It relies on deception and false trust to get a person to sit in the car and make themselves so vulnerable, Jale Poljarevius, regional intelligence chief at the police, previously told Expressen.
During the night to last Thursday, a Norwegian citizen was arrested on suspicion of the double murder, while he was in a garage in the Grønland district of Oslo.
That murder, in turn, may have been revenge for the murder of rapper C. Gambino, who was shot dead in a parking garage in Hisingen last summer, according to information from TV4 News.
