New Details Emerge in Örebro Mass Shooting Investigation
Rickard Andersson shot and killed ten people at Campus Risbergska in Örebro. Many circumstances surrounding the mass shooting have been shrouded in mystery, but now more details are emerging. Images from the investigation show his weapons inside the school. At his apartment, it was filled with moving boxes, broken items, and more weapons.
It has been 143 days since the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska in Örebro on February 4.
On Friday, the police released their investigation. It includes images from inside the school in Örebro. Some of them show shell casings. Others show bullet holes in doors leading into the school.
In a classroom, three firearms and a knife several decimeters long were found. Two of the weapons were semi-automatic rifles, and the third was a pump-action shotgun.
Police also found smoke grenades in several places in the school, as shown in images from the investigation protocol.
The investigation reveals that Andersson, a week before the murder, picked up a package at a convenience store in Örebro. The package contained two knives and four smoke devices.
Math Book and Coffee Among Andersson's Belongings
In one of the school's restrooms, several items believed to belong to Andersson were found, including an Ikea bag, a guitar case, a sports bag, and a math book. They also found packages of tea and coffee, various types of bags, a gas lighter, and a black umbrella. Police have previously shared that Andersson hid in the restroom for some time before the massacre.
There are also images purportedly showing Andersson's clothes. He had two black jackets with him. A small button phone was found in one of the jacket pockets. In the pockets were also a keychain, some tissue packs, a bank card, an ID card, a total of 260 kronor in cash, a pair of gloves, and a pair of glasses.
Andersson's apartment was also examined, where additional weapons were found. The images show that the living room was very messy.
Several moving boxes are in the room, and a large potted plant appears to have fallen from a table. The ceiling lamp is also broken.
No Indication of Political Motive
Andersson's motive has puzzled both the public and the police. However, the investigation concludes that there is no connection to ideological or political motives. Instead, the motive seems to be linked to a desire to end his life.
"In connection with this, he chose to communicate his perceived frustration and take out his anger on an environment that was in a place that had personal value for him," the police write.
