Nazi Group Behind Fake RFSL Posters in Stockholm

The Nordic Resistance Movement, a Nazi organization, was responsible for the fake RFSL posters.

The posters, displayed in various locations in Stockholm, read "Even children need love – abolish the age of consent" with the RFSL logo in the left corner and the Stockholm Pride logo in the right. The message insinuates a desire to legalize sex with children.

The Nazi NMR, which has been classified as a terrorist organization by the USA, stated on its website that it supports the smear campaign.

RFSL has reacted strongly to the posters and has reported the incident to the police.

– We consider this disinformation and these are terrible accusations against us as an organization. And we are not surprised that it comes from the far-right, says Felix König, RFSL's Head of Communications.

Call to the Government

He notes that disinformation and suspicion against LGBTQ people often come from the far-right. RFSL now hopes the government will address the issue.

– The final negotiations on the autumn budget are approaching. We believe it is crucial to invest in efforts to counter right-wing extremism and misinformation in Sweden, says König.

Many who have seen the posters have contacted RFSL with questions about whether they are truly behind them.

– This is absolutely not true. We strongly distance ourselves from sexual violence, in case anyone mistakenly believes we would spread this, says Felix König.
