Morrissey Cancels Stockholm Shows: A Heartfelt Message to Swedish Fans
Morrissey was set to perform in Stockholm twice this week. However, he has now canceled his Swedish appearances.
"The pain of not reaching Stockholm this week is terrible," Morrissey writes.
The British artist Morrissey became iconic as the frontman of the 1980s group The Smiths, known for classic songs like "This Charming Man," "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out," "How Soon Is Now?" and "Girlfriend in a Coma." The album "The Queen Is Dead" often appears on lists of the greatest albums of all time.
Since then, he has released 13 albums as a solo artist.
Morrissey was scheduled to play at Hovet in Stockholm on June 23. He was also set to perform at "Allsång på Skansen."
Now, it has been announced that both Swedish performances are canceled "due to exhaustion."
"I Love You All"
Morrissey has written a message to his Swedish fans, stating that "the pain of not reaching Stockholm this week is terrible."
He mentioned that "we dream of Stockholm."
"Over the past seven days, we have traveled through six countries, and we are more exhausted from traveling than one can imagine. We can barely see. We pray to God that someone, somewhere can help us reach Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark where we have thousands and thousands of friends," Morrissey writes.
He concluded the message with a hope that "we will all gather with God's grace."
"I love you all with what remains of my doomed heart," Morrissey writes.
