Moderates Withdraw AI Service
The Swedish Moderate Party launched an AI service that sends personalized greetings from Ulf Kristersson ahead of the 2026 election. However, the service was misused to create a greeting for Adolf Hitler, reports TV4 News. The sign held by Kristersson read, "We need you, Adolf Hitler."
Ahead of the upcoming 2026 election, the Moderates introduced a service allowing personalized greetings from Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) to individuals they believe should join the party.
TV4 News reviewed the service and found that even names like Adolf Hitler could be generated by the AI service.
In one example, Kristersson is seen holding a sign with the text "We need you, Adolf Hitler," while discussing the election. He also asks if Hitler wants to become their colleague.
Other names used when TV4 tested the service included Uganda's former dictator Idi Amin and terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.
Missing Filters
The service appeared to lack filters and restrictions, allowing inappropriate names to be used.
"In previous campaigns of a similar nature, there was a blacklist that prevented misuse in this way," writes Maria Sognefors, operational campaign manager, in a message to TV4 News.
Service Shut Down
On Thursday, the service was shut down.
"We were made aware that it was possible to misuse our new campaign by entering inappropriate names. Therefore, we took the site down as soon as we became aware of this," writes Maria Sognefors.
