Ministers Make a Splash at Harpsund: A Dive into Sweden's Annual Crayfish Party
First, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson announced a historic multi-billion investment. Then, Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlsson made a splash. Meanwhile, several reluctant swimmers in Kristersson's cabinet were revealed during the annual crayfish party at Harpsund.
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson was the first to announce at the Prime Minister's summer residence, Harpsund, that the government is investing 80 billion kronor in the autumn budget. Afterwards, several ministers gathered at the dock for a swim.
The Moderate trio of Ulf Kristersson, Maria Malmer Stenergard, and Anna Tenje took a joint dive into Harpsund Lake, while Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlsson (KD) made a bigger splash with a cannonball.
Content with a Boat Ride
However, Kristersson's government also seems to include several reluctant swimmers. Among them were Aid Minister Benjamin Dousa (M), Social Services Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M), and Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand (M), who were content with a boat ride on Harpsund Lake. Civil Minister Erik Slottner (KD) was at the oars, dressed in a bathrobe.
In the evening, the traditional crayfish party was also held, where KD leader Ebba Busch promised to provide the snaps, as the Prime Minister announced he would not be offering any spirits.
