Man Fatally Shot in Norrköping: Police Appeal for Information

A man in his 30s has been shot dead in Norrköping. According to reports from Norrköpings Tidningar, he was shot at a playground.

At 6:15 PM on Saturday, police received an alert about a man found with severe injuries outdoors in Ektorp, Norrköping.

Later that evening, police announced that evidence strongly suggests a shooting occurred and that the victim, a man in his 30s, died from his injuries. The victim's family has been notified.

According to Norrköpings Tidningar, the victim was shot at a playground.

The police are investigating the case as murder and serious weapons crime.

Late Saturday evening, an intensive police operation was underway, including tracking and door-to-door inquiries in the densely populated area with apartment buildings. Surveillance footage from the area will also be reviewed.

"We conducted a technical investigation with dog patrols on site. We have made some seizures at the scene, but we are not disclosing exactly what was seized," said police spokesperson Martina Gradian on Sunday morning.

Suspect at Large

The cordons were lifted at around 12:30 AM.

As of Sunday morning, no suspects have been arrested.

"We have conducted interviews and will likely conduct more throughout Sunday as door-to-door inquiries continue and material is reviewed, but no one is or has been detained," said Martina Gradian.

Police do not rule out that the motive may be linked to conflicts in the area.

"We do not rule anything out, but it is too early to say anything about the motive. We are working broadly and without assumptions," said Gradian.

Throughout the day, police will continue to gather information and urge anyone with information or observations to come forward.

"This happened at a time when many people are out and about, and there is a possibility that someone saw or heard something we are not aware of. If you have seen or heard anything, please contact the police," said Martina Gradian.
