The man was confronted by Dumpen after chatting with a fictitious mother about raping her young daughter. He is now in custody, suspected of having raped a real child.
The confrontation was led by Sara Nilsson from Dumpen. The man had arranged to meet what he believed was the mother of a young schoolgirl. In the chat with the fictional mother, he explicitly stated his intention to rape the girl.
He has now been detained on suspicion of rape against a real child. The crime is alleged to have occurred earlier this year.
The prosecutor in the case cannot disclose details due to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation.
– What I can say is that the suspect and the victim are related, she says.
The man denies the charges.
The prosecutor confirms awareness of Dumpen's publication about the man but states it had no impact on the investigation.
– No, when the report came in, it was handled in the usual way, with a child interview with the victim, and the evidence was evaluated the same way regardless of Dumpen's involvement.
Mother: “We Are Afraid of Him”
The mother of the girl who is the victim is relieved that the man is now in custody.
– We are afraid of him, so it is very comforting that he is where he is, she says.
She reports that her two other daughters have also spoken about being victimized by the man.
Already in the summer, one daughter reported a sexual assault. This assault, for which the man is not detained, allegedly partly occurred in the shower.
– Afterward, it took nine days to get her into the shower. She is still afraid of showers, says the mother.
She states that she filed a police report back then, but it did not lead to the man's arrest.
“Broke Down in the Kitchen”
A few weeks ago, she was contacted by Dumpen about the man's confrontation.
– I didn't know Dumpen existed before. Now I think they are doing a fantastic job. But it was, of course, hard to hear what he had done.
It was then that the other daughters' stories emerged.
– It was only after all this with Dumpen that it came out. They both broke down in the kitchen and told their stories.
The eldest daughter described assaults that allegedly occurred while the mother was in the laundry room. The assaults also involved violence, according to the girl's account.
– My daughter said: “I thought I was going to die, mom, I couldn't breathe.”
The youngest daughter has also reported sexual assaults involving violence.
The children are in a very bad state, the mother reports.
“Endure for the Sake of Her Children”
She herself is also having a tough time.
– You have to endure for your children's sake. They need their mother. But as soon as I am alone, the feelings come. It feels like a nightmare that never ends.
The prosecutor states that the suspicions for which he is detained concern one victim. She does not want to comment on whether there are suspicions that the man has victimized more children.
– That is not something I can comment on at this time.
