At 1 AM on Thursday, the police launched a major operation in Hemmesta, located in Värmdö outside Stockholm.
In the operation, two boys, aged 13 and 14, were taken into custody. They are suspected of accepting a contract to commit murder in exchange for a quarter of a million kronor, according to information provided to Expressen. The boys are not of legal age for criminal responsibility.
The raid took place in an apartment where the police also found two loaded pistols.
The boys are from another part of the country and reportedly escaped from a home where they were placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).
On Thursday afternoon, the police confirmed that an operation had taken place but declined to provide further comments.
"It is true that we are investigating a serious crime in Hemmesta, Värmdö, and that we have carried out several investigative measures," said Ola Österling from the Stockholm Police Media Center.
