Maja's Unexpected Encounter with Max's New Shake: A Spicy Surprise
23-year-old Maja from Boden couldn't believe her taste buds when she tried Max's new luxury shake, Apple Cinnamon Crumble.
Maja Jarblad, 23, from Boden, was eager to try Max's new luxury shake, "Apple Cinnamon Crumble," which includes apple and cinnamon compote and churros.
"Yum," thought Maja, but after a sip, she was shocked, disgusted, and puzzled.
It didn't taste like apple.
"At first, I thought it wasn't real. I thought I was imagining it, that it was just a lot of cinnamon or something that made it strong," says Maja.
"I was very shocked. It tasted like a chicken stew or something. A cold chicken stew," she continues.
"The Staff Looked Confused at Each Other"
But it wasn't chicken. Maja had received a milkshake with chili flavor. Her partner tasted it too and felt the same.
Maja went back to the restaurant to check what had happened.
"They opened the box with the luxury shake ingredients and took out the container that should have the apple flavor, and tasted it themselves, and it was chili sauce," she says.
And the staff?
"They looked very confused at each other and chuckled a bit. They didn't look much at me, but mostly at each other, and thought it was a bit funny and strange," Maja describes.
Max's Explanation: "Sweet Heat" Sauce
Maja received an apology and a refund from the restaurant.
However, she remains puzzled.
"Did someone swap the container on purpose to be funny, or did someone have a tough day at work, or was it an accident? I don't know," says Maja.
Max's press contact, Helena Stenqvist, confirms that "a mistake unfortunately occurred" and that the new luxury shake got the wrong ingredient – Max's new "Sweet Heat" sauce.
"The sauces look similar, and despite having labeling for differentiation, the human factor led to the wrong sauce being used, which is, of course, very unfortunate. The mistake was corrected immediately when the guest pointed it out," she says.
If Max ever considers launching a chili milkshake, they can reach out to Maja from Boden for feedback. The taste test is already done – and we can now present the verdict.
"No, I absolutely do not recommend Max's chili shake. I hope no one else has had to taste it," says Maja.
