Lucas Dunderberg, a member of the Sweden Democrats (SD), was forced to resign from his position in the Söderhamn municipal council. This decision followed revelations by Söderhamns-Kuriren that he had posted several right-wing extremist messages on X.
"Great organizations," he now writes about the right-wing extremist groups Det fria Sverige and Aktivklubb.
Dunderberg served in the Söderhamn municipal council for the Sweden Democrats and was also a member of the children's and learning committee.
The newspaper exposed how he posted several X messages with extremist content, including statements that "all mosques, synagogues, and other non-Christian temples should immediately be taken over by the state and transformed into something for the Swedes."
In a comment on the platform, he also wrote, "Who is right-wing extremist?" and answered himself, "I 100%," according to Söderhamns-Kuriren.
He also shared calls to join the right-wing extremist groups Det fria Sverige and Aktivklubb Sverige.
"Refused to Renounce"
Lucas Dunderberg was forced to leave his political assignments following Söderhamns-Kuriren's revelations, which he now writes about on X.
"A few weeks ago, I was given the choice to either renounce my ideals and continue my political career or stand firm with what Sweden needs. I refused to renounce great organizations like Det Fria Sverige and Aktivklubb and chose instead to resign," he writes on X.
The Sweden Democrats in Söderhamn have previously told Söderhamns-Kuriren that it should be acceptable in SD to criticize things that "are not compatible with Swedish values," but that there is also freedom of religion in Sweden.
"The party has taken measures, and this is not something we support. We have been in contact and agreed that he should resign from his assignments," continues Daniel Persson, group leader for SD in the municipality, to Kuriren.
