Local Store Owner Wins Big on V75: A Stroke of Luck

The small store in Tolkabro may not be the most frequented place in Sweden, but when it comes to horse racing bets, owner Ulf Karlsson is currently one of the hottest in the country. On Sunday, he won approximately 1.6 million SEK on the V75, much to the delight of his syndicate members.

"We had that little bit of luck that was needed," says Ulf.

This time of year usually spells success for the small store in Tolkabro, located just over ten kilometers west of Ulricehamn. Last year, they won over a million SEK on the V86 at Vaggeryd, a round that will reappear on Wednesday, June 25.

Ulf Karlsson can expect to earn his customers' trust again this year. During Sunday's V75 round from Kalmar, he won approximately 1.6 million SEK when two of the store's systems hit seven correct.

"It's really crazy that we hit it again at the same time of year. We just have to aim for a repeat at Vaggeryd on Wednesday," says Ulf Karlsson.

"Worth Its Weight in Gold"

The two systems that hit all the right numbers cost 106 and 212 SEK respectively and were similarly designed. The first yielded almost 11,000 SEK per share, and the latter yielded just over 21,000 SEK per share.

"It was that little bit of luck that was needed, and I changed my mind a bit at the last minute. Initially, I didn't have Knight Journey and Ulf Ohlsson as a single bet in the second division; I had four horses there. But I thought both the first and fifth divisions looked tough, so I wanted at least ten horses there, so I changed my mind and singled Ulf Ohlsson's horse," says Ulf Karlsson.

"Then I had two horses in the race where Clarissa won, both that one and the favorite Olly Håleryd. It was worth its weight in gold when Clarissa won there, of course."

Many struggled to find the big surprise Nightrain Boko in the fifth division, which was only played to one percent from its eleventh position. But after a photo finish victory against the favorite Fantom Jet, the value of the V75 skyrocketed.

"It's not far from Fantom Jet winning even though it looked beaten, so there we had that bit of luck when a one-percenter wins."

Many Happy Customers

On Monday, many happy messages came in from syndicate members who could cash in a nice summer bonus.

"That's how it's been. That's the fun part about syndicate betting, that many get to share in the win. It's extra fun for us too, as we have a very small store," concludes Ulf Karlsson.
