Liljeholmsbron Stuck in Raised Position
On Thursday evening, the Liljeholmsbron in Stockholm was stuck in a raised position. Technicians were called to the scene, and it took over an hour to resolve the issue.
"It has been stuck there for 40 minutes, only one side is working," said Markus Barkarmo, a local resident.
At 18:52, the Swedish Transport Administration issued a warning that no vehicle traffic could pass over the Liljeholmsbron. Reports from the scene indicated that the bridge was stuck in a raised position.
"There are usually many ambulances going to Södersjukhuset, so it would be chaotic if something happened," said Markus Barkarmo.
Markus further explained that both parts of the bridge were raised, but one side would not lower.
"Cars are stuck there, so I can only imagine the queue. I can't see it, but people from Liljeholmen who need to cross must start turning around," he said.
By 19:45, the bridge was operational again.
