The Swedish public has spoken. The celebrity they most want to have a beer with is criminologist Leif GW Persson, according to a survey by Svenska Bryggerier. Several politicians, royals, and newcomers also made the list.
Svenska Bryggerier conducts an annual survey to find out which celebrity Swedes would most like to have a beer with if given the chance. Last year, the leader of the Sweden Democrats, Jimmie Åkesson, topped the list. This year, Åkesson settles for fourth place as last year's runner-up takes the top spot.
Criminologist and author Leif GW Persson, 80, is the celebrity Swedes most want to toast with. He has claimed the top position every other year since the survey began in 2019.
– Leif GW is a recurring favorite in our annual survey, and it's clear that he interests many Swedes, says Anna-Karin Fondberg, CEO of Sveriges Bryggerier, in a press release.
Two Women Make the List
Second on the list is gastronome Edward Blom, making his debut as a dream companion at the pub. Other newcomers include comedian Johan Glans and actor Peter Stormare.
Eight of the ten on the list are men. Two are women – Social Democrats' leader Magdalena Andersson ranks seventh, followed closely by Crown Princess Victoria in eighth place.
