Jonna Lundell's Miraculous Recovery: Leaves Hospital After Sepsis Scare
Jonna Lundell has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted for sepsis. The influencer suffered from high fever and severe back pain and was hospitalized for nearly three weeks. "Feels so good to have her home again," writes Joakim Lundell in a text message.
Entrepreneur Jonna Lundell, 31, had been hospitalized since early June.
She experienced severe back pain and high fever.
She was rushed to the hospital where she underwent several examinations to determine the cause of her symptoms.
It turned out to be sepsis, also known as blood poisoning. Doctors discovered that bacteria had entered her bloodstream, spread to her back, and attacked tissue and vertebrae, causing the pain. Her husband Joakim Lundell had previously shared this on Instagram.
"You Were Close to Death"
On Sunday, Jonna Lundell announced that she has been discharged from the hospital.
"You can't joke about what I've been through, but it feels so damn far away," says Jonna Lundell in a video on YouTube.
"You were close to death," says the couple's coordinator Olivia Lindegren in the video and elaborates.
"You were maybe just a day away from dying if you hadn't gone in."
"Mm, it doesn't feel like that," Jonna Lundell responds.
Continues Taking Multiple Medications
In the video, Jonna shares that she will return to the hospital next week for tests and X-rays. The 31-year-old also has an abscess in her back, which she is unsure if it will need to be drained or if it will heal with the medications she is taking. She continues to take painkillers and muscle relaxants.
"It's nice to come home to you," says Jonna Lundell in the YouTube video.
"We've missed you a lot," says her husband Joakim Lundell and gives her a welcome home kiss.
Joakim Lundell writes in a text message to Expressen:
"Feels so good to have her home again, but there are many medications and follow-ups in the last few days. But it's moving forward anyway."
