Janne Andersson Joins Swedish Table Tennis Team in New Role
The coaching career is over. Now, Janne Andersson steps into the world of table tennis, taking on a new role within the Swedish Table Tennis Federation.
"It feels fantastic," he tells SVT.
In April this year, Sweden's former national coach announced to Expressen that his coaching career had ended. However, he is not done with sports.
SVT Sport now reports that Janne Andersson is entering the world of table tennis.
The 62-year-old reveals he has taken on a role as a leadership consultant in the newly formed sports council of the Swedish Table Tennis Federation.
"It feels fantastic to step in," Janne Andersson tells the channel.
"I Know Table Tennis Like Most People"
He elaborates on his primary purpose within the federation.
"I will be there as a support in the background. There are national coaches, general secretaries, and people working in the daily operations, but they want to make some efforts on the leadership side and establish a new organization," says Andersson.
But how well does Janne Andersson know table tennis?
"I know table tennis like most people. I've played a bit in the basement at home, and I'm an old friend of Jörgen Persson and have followed that entire generation."
