Israel Urges U.S. to Join War Against Iran
In the past 48 hours, Israel has repeatedly urged the U.S. to join the war against Iran, according to reports from Axios.
Israel's ambassador to the U.S. told Fox News that Israel's operation must conclude with the "elimination of Fordow," Iran's enrichment facility.
To achieve this, Israel needs heavy bombers and bunker-penetrating bombs.
Only with such weapons can Israel target Fordow, which would "eliminate" Iran's nuclear program.
The facility is deeply embedded in a mountain, underground, and Israel currently lacks realistic means to reach it.
However, the U.S. possesses the necessary heavy bombers and bunker-penetrating bombs, which are stationed within flying distance of Iran.
Plea for More Support
The U.S. already supports Israel with intelligence and weapons. But since the start of Operation Rising Lion on Friday night, Israel has repeatedly asked the U.S. to actively join the war, reports Axios, citing two unnamed Israeli officials.
Trump has so far said no, but Israelis remain hopeful.
An Israeli source told the newspaper that the U.S. is considering the request and emphasized that Israel hopes Trump will agree.
A White House source confirms the reports of Israel's plea for help but says it is not currently under consideration by the president.
Meanwhile, Iran has threatened the U.S., stating that their bases will be attacked in the coming days.
If this occurs, the U.S. military will respond with "unprecedented force," Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
