Heat Forces Temporary Closure of Rides at Liseberg Amusement Park
Four attractions were closed today at Liseberg. The amusement park suspects that two of the incidents are due to the heat.
– It's tough when it's so hot, says Hans Skeppstedt, the acting park manager.
On Sunday, the attractions Loke, Atmosfear, Flumeride, and Kraftverket were temporarily shut down.
The safety systems on Loke and Atmosfear were triggered, which the park believes may be due to the unusually high temperatures.
– Just like us humans, our attractions don't like it when it gets too hot, says Clara Rosendahl, press officer, to GP.
Park Manager: It's Tough
Technicians have been on-site to inspect Loke and Atmosfear.
Acting park manager Hans Skeppstedt says he cannot confirm if it was indeed the heat that caused the safety systems to activate, but the heat is causing issues at the amusement park.
– It's tough when it's so hot. We have to encourage staff and guests to drink plenty of water to avoid heatstroke.
Back in Operation
Flumeride and Atmosfear are now back in operation.
– They had a break of about an hour, says acting park manager Hans Skeppstedt.
In Flumeride's case, it was due to a gate that opened incorrectly, but the issue was quickly resolved.
However, Loke and Kraftverket remain closed, according to Hans Skeppstedt.
– The staff will look into it tomorrow. We hope they can be back in operation as soon as possible again.
