Just as the SL bus pulled away from the stop, a loud bang was heard. A glass window had suddenly exploded.

"It just went bang," says Johan, 23, who was sitting on the bus.

The incident occurred on bus line 6 just before 1 PM at the Roslagsgatan stop, right in the heart of Stockholm.

"I was sitting at the back of the bus and heard something that sounded like an explosion. It turned out to be one of the glass windows that had shattered," Johan, 23, explains.

According to SL, the incident involved a walker that accidentally hit the glass window between the seats and the stroller area, causing it to explode.

"If there have been previous impacts, tensions on the window can build up, and if a walker then hits it, I don't know how hard, but it caused it to crack," says Cajsa Sjöbeck, press officer at SL.

Bus passengers had to disembark and either walk or take another bus. The bus itself has been taken out of service.

"When a glass window shatters, precautions must be taken. However, this is not a common occurrence," says Cajsa Sjöbeck.

No one was injured.
