Ghislaine Maxwell Denies Witnessing Misconduct by Donald Trump
Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has stated that she never saw U.S. President Donald Trump behave inappropriately. "Absolutely never, in any context," Maxwell said during a deposition with the U.S. Department of Justice, which was made public on Friday, reports CNN.
Trump, along with several other well-known individuals, had previously associated with Epstein, and media reports suggest he appears in various parts of the investigation material.
Ghislaine Maxwell also dismisses the official version that Epstein took his own life in a Manhattan jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial.
The questioning of Maxwell took place at the end of July. The over 300-page transcript reveals that the Department of Justice did not promise Maxwell anything in exchange for her testimony, according to CNN.
Serving a 20-Year Prison Sentence
Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, according to authorities, subjected underage girls to hundreds of sexual assaults. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's long-time partner who allegedly helped him recruit young girls, is serving a 20-year prison sentence for, among other things, the sexual exploitation of children.
According to the prosecution, Epstein paid her $30 million to recruit the girls. Money, Maxwell claims during the questioning, that was actually a loan for investments.
