Four Men Sentenced to Prison for Involving 13-Year-Olds in Pizzeria Explosion Plot
Four men hired two 13-year-olds to bomb a pizzeria in the Stenkulla area of Nyköping. They have now been sentenced to prison for terms ranging from three to nine years for a series of crimes.
In January this year, a police patrol became suspicious of two dark-clad individuals lurking around a pizzeria in the Stenkulla district of Nyköping. It later turned out to be two 13-year-old boys carrying a live hand grenade.
A day later, another grenade exploded near a store in the same area, and a 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident.
He was charged with attempted murder, as a passing witness could have been killed. However, Nyköping District Court acquitted the 19-year-old of that charge.
Nine Years in Prison
He was sentenced to nine years in prison for serious public endangerment and for involving the 13-year-old boys in serious criminal activity.
A 22-year-old and a 36-year-old were also sentenced for aiding and abetting serious public endangerment, as they supported the 19-year-old in carrying out the crime. The 36-year-old was also convicted of drug offenses. The 22-year-old received a four-year sentence, and the 36-year-old three years.
A 28-year-old, who helped recruit the 13-year-olds, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
Since the 13-year-old boys were not of legal age, they were not sentenced.
