Ulf Blomqvist, a 48-year-old former sports teacher, is currently in prison for filming over 100 young girls at a prestigious school where he worked. He now faces new charges for previously undiscovered incidents of secretly filming children at a school he was bought out of before joining the prestigious institution.
Since May last year, Ulf Blomqvist has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for multiple counts of serious child pornography offenses, offensive photography, and sexual harassment.
These crimes were committed at a prestigious school in Stockholm. Evidence included photos from other teachers who managed to capture Blomqvist pointing his phone at young girls changing clothes during a school trip.
Following his conviction, the investigation into Ulf Blomqvist continued, uncovering images of even more children from two additional schools in Haninge municipality on his hard drives.
The suspected crimes, including child pornography offenses and sexual harassment, occurred from 2006 to 2016.
New Charges: Sexual Harassment of 50 Girls
Last spring, police sent letters to 160 former students identified in the school materials. Many of the crimes had expired under the statute of limitations, but all identified individuals received letters from the police.
A significant majority of those called for questioning participated in the investigation, according to a press release from the prosecutor's office.
"The police have reviewed over a million files consisting of films, photographs, and collages. Since last fall, investigators have examined the extensive material, enabling the identification of the victims. The thorough work, along with the participation of so many victims, has allowed me to bring charges today," said senior prosecutor Åsa Valter, who led the preliminary investigation.
On Monday, the first charges were filed in Södertörn District Court. Ulf Blomqvist is charged with sexual harassment after allegedly filming a victim at a school in Haninge municipality on three occasions between November 2010 and May 2011.
Today, Ulf Blomqvist is charged with sexual harassment for filming 50 girls naked. The alleged offenses occurred in locker rooms and other parts of the school between 2009 and 2013.
Some of the students who received the letters have previously spoken to Expressen about Ulf Blomqvist's inappropriate behavior, and a teacher reported him to the school administration on two occasions.
Ulf Blomqvist was bought out from the school in Haninge for half a million kronor.
