
Ferry Crashes into Dock in Nacka
A ferry collided with a dock at high speed in Nacka, south of Stockholm. Several people have reportedly sustained minor injuries, according to Expressen.
The alarm about the ferry accident at Nacka Strand was raised at 11:03 AM on Wednesday.
– It is a passenger boat that failed to stop in time and hit the dock quite hard, says Lars Antonsson, air rescue leader at the sea and air rescue.
150 people are said to be on board. Approximately 15 have been injured, with five expected to be taken to the hospital, according to early reports to Expressen.
Police Investigate Possible Crime
According to police spokesperson Ola Österling, the individuals have sustained minor injuries.
– Five people are to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. No one is seriously injured. It involves bumps and cuts on eyebrows, he says.
Rescue services, ambulances, and police are now on site and working.
– We are documenting injuries, photographing the ferry, and conducting extensive interviews, says Ola Österling.
The police have now launched a criminal investigation into negligence in maritime traffic and causing bodily harm.
