Father Loses Baby in Trollhättan: Suspected of Crime
A father in Trollhättan believed someone had taken the stroller with his newborn baby. It turned out he had forgotten where he left the stroller, and he is now suspected of a crime.
For two hours, police patrols, drones, dog units, and a helicopter searched for the baby reported missing in August. Initially, it was suspected that someone had taken the child, but it was found in its stroller at the same place the father had left it, reports TV4 Nyheterna.
– It was simply negligence on the part of this adult man who was responsible for the child. But I won't go into any details about exactly what happened, says Robert Beckard, senior prosecutor to TV4.
The baby, a seven-day-old girl, was in good condition when found.
The incident is now being investigated as endangerment, and the father has been notified of suspicion of a crime. Social services are also involved in the case. According to TV4's information, the father was under the influence of drugs at the time – but Beckard does not comment on this.
– I have a theory, but I can't go into it. I want to carry out the investigative measures first, he says.
