Famous Swedish Actor Crashes Car Amid Drug Allegations

He threatened to 'create chaos'. Then the actor—known from major films and series—got behind the wheel, allegedly under the influence of drugs.

One Tuesday afternoon in April, a man called 112 from his car while on his way to the Grand Hotel.

He felt so unwell that he feared for his life and pleaded for an ambulance.

– I don't know if it's a panic attack or something, I've had a bit of that lately... but now it feels like I can't breathe deeply, it doesn't help, nothing helps, he told the emergency operator.

The caller turned out to be a very famous actor, seen in major productions both in Sweden and abroad, as first reported by Aftonbladet.

'Create Chaos'

When the ambulance arrived after half an hour, he ran to it and got inside.

There, he demanded to be taken to the hospital.

– If we didn't just do as he said, he would 'create chaos with us', says a nurse in the police investigation.

– I said we had to examine him before we went to the hospital, and then he said it would be faster if he drove himself to the hospital.

Said and done—the actor returned to his car and pressed the gas pedal.

– He drove about 100-150 meters before crashing to the left. When we reached his car, he crawled out. He was still threatening, says the ambulance nurse.

Drugs Found in Blood: 'I Don't Take That'

The actor was taken to the hospital where the doctor believed he had probably suffered a panic attack.

But blood tests revealed something that made the police react:

THC, the active substance in cannabis and hashish.

– I don't take drugs, says the actor in interrogation, claiming he might have ingested it 'unknowingly'.

– I might have done it on my birthday (...) because I shared a cigarette with someone. It's quite logical.

Denies Charges

The actor is now charged with drunk driving and minor drug offenses.

He denies the charges, claiming it was the panic attack, not drugs, that caused the crash.

Expressen has sought the man and his lawyer.
