SMHI has issued warnings for both torrential rain and high temperatures in Halmstad, Sweden. The region is expected to experience heavy rainfall and a heatwave simultaneously, posing risks of flooding and health issues, especially for vulnerable groups.

SMHI has issued a warning for torrential rain and several alerts for high temperatures. One area that stands out is Halmstad, where it will be both significantly rainy and hot.
SMHI's new warning for torrential rain has been issued for parts of southwestern Götaland, including Halland County and parts of Skåne, Kronoberg, and Jönköping counties.
The warning is in effect from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. On its website, SMHI states:
"During the afternoon and evening, there is a risk of heavy showers that can locally produce large amounts of rain in a short time, with a risk of flooding."
In some areas, there may be rain and thunderstorms with as much as 55 millimeters of rain.
High Temperatures
SMHI has simultaneously issued new alerts for high temperatures in several parts of Sweden. This applies to large parts of Norrland, Svealand, the northernmost Götaland, and inner and western Götaland.
One area that stands out is Halmstad, where both torrential rain and extreme heat are expected simultaneously, according to SMHI.
"Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 26 to 28 degrees Celsius through Sunday," writes SMHI.
Due to the temperatures, it is important to be aware of specific risk groups.
"Increased risk of health problems, especially for risk groups such as people with underlying illnesses, the elderly, or young children," writes SMHI.
