Ex-Leader of Werewolf Legion Charged with Brutal Crypto Heist

The former leader of the notorious Werewolf Legion gang has been charged with a violent cryptocurrency robbery.

In March this year, four men allegedly abducted a 30-year-old man, threatening him in a car and brutally attempting to extract information about his cryptocurrency assets. They reportedly held pliers to his hand, threatening to cut off his fingers. The indictment states that the perpetrators forced the man into the woods, kicked and punched him, poured gasoline over him, and threatened to set him on fire.

Member of Saturdarah

This is far from the first time the former gang leader has been suspected of violent crimes. According to a 2021 verdict, he was a member of the criminal motorcycle gang Saturdarah at the time.

The man in question has previous convictions for serious drug offenses, robbery, and assault. In a 2021 robbery case, a man's ear was cut off in front of his son. The victim was then forced to eat the severed piece of ear and apply for a loan on a computer so the perpetrators could get money.

The gang member stated that "it was not planned to do what he did with the top of the ear and that he regrets it."

The district court found it established that he first tried to cut off the man's ear and then clipped it, saying:

– This is how we do it in Saturdarah.

Key Figure in Case Against Celebrity Chef

Over ten years ago, the gang member was convicted of threats and extortion against celebrity chef Melker Andersson.

Andersson's restaurants were subjected to arson attacks for several years. The background was that Andersson broke an agreement with the gang leader's dishwashing and cleaning company.

Notorious in the Underworld

The gang member has been well-known in the underworld as one of the founders of the Werewolf Legion, a multi-criminal gang with a hierarchy similar to that of motorcycle gangs.

He has also been a leading figure in another gang, Pocos Pero Loca, with ties to Bandidos.

Werewolf Legion, also known as the "Werewolf Gang," has been designated by police as a criminal organization based in Stockholm. Their main activities were robbery and extortion.

The now-charged gang member has previously run a large number of companies, including staffing firms. Today, the companies are deregistered, most of them bankrupt.

All accused in the crypto case deny the charges.
