In a teleconference on Sunday, several European leaders are set to discuss the upcoming meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. They will also have a conversation with Zelensky during the day. At the top of the agenda is a security guarantee for a future peace agreement.

The meeting includes leaders from the coalition of Western countries committed to supporting Ukraine, such as France's President Emmanuel Macron, Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Finland's President Alexander Stubb.

One of the key points of the meeting is security guarantees for Ukraine. Trump has proposed a guarantee inspired by Article 5, which would allow Ukraine to seek assistance from all its allies, including the USA, if attacked by Russia again.

The UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer, France's President Emmanuel Macron, and Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz will also have a video call with Volodymyr Zelensky at 3:00 PM this afternoon, reports Euractiv.

On Saturday, several European leaders demanded that Zelensky must play a larger role in future talks, asserting that peace cannot be achieved without him. They also oppose granting Russia veto power over Ukraine's EU and NATO membership and announce their readiness to extend sanctions against Russia. The leaders also welcome the proposed summit between Trump, Putin, and Zelensky.

According to AFP, several European leaders have also been invited to Monday's meeting between Trump and Zelensky.
