EU Foreign Ministers Convene for Crisis Meeting

EU foreign ministers are set to meet urgently on Monday, reports Reuters. They will deliberate ahead of the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on Friday, where the leaders are expected to discuss a peace agreement in Ukraine.

– The US has the power to compel Russia to negotiate seriously. Any agreement between the US and Russia must include Ukraine and the EU, as it concerns the security of Ukraine and all of Europe, Kaja Kallas told Reuters.

“Not a Springboard for Aggression”

– An agreement must not become a springboard for continued Russian aggression against Ukraine, the transatlantic alliance, and Europe, she stated.

She emphasized that “all temporarily occupied areas belong to Ukraine.”

Trump plans to meet Putin in Alaska on Friday, and European foreign ministers will discuss potential measures on Friday.

Kallas mentioned that the ministers will also address the situation in Gaza.
