If you love summer heat, now is the time to enjoy it. This week, a high-pressure system is bringing warm and sunny weather to large parts of the country.
"But be prepared for a change," says meteorologist Per Holmberg.
Many Swedes have returned to work after their vacations, but some still have a few days off to enjoy.
And for those who love warmth, there's reason to celebrate.
This week promises sun and high temperatures.
Warm Weather Across Much of Sweden
"A high-pressure system is building in the south while warmer air moves in from the southwest," says Per Holmberg from the weather institute Storm.
According to him, it will become "progressively warmer day by day."
"Tomorrow (Tuesday), temperatures could reach up to 25 degrees in the eastern parts of Götaland, such as Kalmar County. By Wednesday, it will be summer-like warm in large parts of Götaland and Svealand, and even up towards Gävleborg County."
Summer-like warmth means temperatures over 25 degrees, and along with the heat, sunshine is also expected.
Temperatures Could Reach Up to 30 Degrees
"It's not impossible for temperatures to approach the 30-degree mark, especially in the southern part of the country. In northern and central Norrland, it will be cooler and more unstable with rain, but in the south, it will be mostly sunny and warm," says Per Holmberg.
By Friday, cooler air will move in from the north, and it looks set to reach southern Sweden by the weekend.
"Then it will be significantly cooler across the country," says Per Holmberg.
He adds:
"Be prepared for the change to cooler air, which could bring some thunderstorms. Otherwise, just take the opportunity to enjoy."
