
Edvin Lindh Triumphs with World Championship Gold in Mountain Biking
Swedish cyclist Edvin Lindh has claimed the World Championship gold in mountain biking. The 25-year-old dominated his competitors in the XCE discipline.
– "This was such a sweet revenge," says the Swede.
Edvin Lindh had an excellent day in Sakarya, Turkey.
The 25-year-old competed in the XCE World Championship, reminiscent of cross-country skiing sprints with time trials and finals.
Lindh was first superior in the time trials and then demonstrated tactical riding of the highest class.
According to the Swedish Cycling Federation, the competitors were left without a chance, describing the final as "a complete crush."
Sweet Revenge: "Wonderful Feeling"
Lindh has faced issues with his bike in previous championships, but this time everything went according to plan, allowing him to comfortably secure the World Championship gold.
– "Yes, this was such a sweet revenge compared to last year's World Championship. Everything just flowed. And it will be a wonderful feeling to wear the rainbow stripes for the next year," he says in the victory interview.
Privately, Edvin Lindh suffered a personal tragedy a few years ago when he found his twin brother Vilgot dead at home.
On Wednesday, the Swedish Championship week awaits, and Lindh will be at the starting line in Norrköping.
