Ebba Busch, leader of the Christian Democrats, has strongly criticized Jessica Stegrud of the Sweden Democrats for her recent actions, which have sparked controversy. Busch argues that Stegrud's behavior is not in line with Swedish values and has urged the Sweden Democrats to address the issue. The controversy involves Stegrud's tweet highlighting ethnic backgrounds and her involvement in a confrontation with a far-right activist.

Ebba Busch Criticizes Jessica Stegrud's Actions as 'Appalling'
Ebba Busch believes that Jessica Stegrud has acted 'appallingly'. The leader of the Christian Democrats states that the government parties have expressed their criticism to the Sweden Democrats on several levels.
- For me, the behavior is not consistent with Swedish values.
Member of Parliament Jessica Stegrud (SD) has faced extensive criticism in recent weeks.
First, for her tweet following a debate between Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand (M) and Lawen Redar (S), the Social Democrats' cultural policy spokesperson, where she highlighted their ethnic backgrounds. Then, for the revelation of her involvement in a confrontation between far-right activist Nick Alinia, with whom she reportedly has a relationship according to SD sources, and two young men.
Christian Democrats' leader Ebba Busch, Minister of Energy and Business, and Deputy Prime Minister, is among those who are upset.
-
I think the behavior is appalling. It's appalling to leave a comment that is misinterpreted or can be misinterpreted and then not quickly explain what you mean, says Busch, adding:
-
And I think it's appalling to act in a way that has led to teenagers and their families and relatives being exposed.
Criticism Expressed to SD
According to Ebba Busch, it is high time for the Sweden Democrats to decide whether the party accepts this type of behavior. She believes it could harm the Tidö parties and says that the parties in the government have expressed their criticism to SD on several levels.
She herself believes that Jessica Stegrud's actions during the filmed confrontation are not 'consistent with Swedish values'.
- It would have been appalling regardless of who did it, but of course, it adds an extra dimension when it involves elected officials, says Busch.
The issue of Jessica Stegrud's actions is currently being handled by SD's group leadership. Sources within the party do not rule out that the deepened discussions with group leader Linda Lindberg could lead to SD urging Stegrud to resign, Expressen revealed on Thursday.
