Double Shooting in Gothenburg

Two individuals have been shot dead in Gothenburg, according to reports from Expressen. They were found in a car in the Lunden district, as per the information.

A parking garage in Lunden, Gothenburg, is cordoned off on Tuesday evening. Videos from the scene show several police cars, forensic technicians, and a dog handler. A large tent has been set up at the entrance to the garage.

Two people have been shot to death and were found in a car, according to reports from Expressen.

– We are on site due to a suspected serious crime, says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr to Expressen.

The police are searching for one or more perpetrators, using drones and a helicopter at the scene, writes Göteborgs-Posten, which was the first to report on the two shot dead.

GP reports that the victims were allegedly murdered while sitting in a rental car at the parking garage. One of the victims is said to be the person who rented the car.

The newspaper understands that the police are working on the theory that the double murder is linked to the conflict between criminal networks in Biskopsgården.

Police: On Site

The police are tight-lipped about the incident.

– What I can confirm so far is that we received an alarm at 17:39 via SOS regarding a suspected serious crime. We are still on site with several patrols handling this incident, says the spokesperson to Expressen and continues:

– We have, of course, carried out some investigative measures and cordoned off the area, and we will also start door-to-door inquiries in the area for information gathering. It is a work in full swing.

The police have checked several people after the incident.

Sports Leader: Shaken

Stefan Göthberg is the chairman of Lunden Överås BK, which has its home arena, Överåsvallen, right next to the crime scene.

– It is shaken, of course, he says.

When he arrived at the sports venue around 6 PM, it was cordoned off, and he had to drive around to get to the field.

In the evening, about 150 children had training.

– None of them had understood what had happened. Instead of stopping everything, we decided to continue the training. Each leader had to call the parents to get them to come and pick up the children, says Stefan Göthberg.

To avoid unnecessarily alarming the children, he instructed the leaders to tell the children that an accident had occurred and that they could not take the usual way home.

Stefan Göthberg says there has been some concern in the area previously.

– We have had problems with people sneaking around and trying to recruit our youths over the past two years. We have actively worked to get the police to come and be visible around the field, and it has yielded results – we have not seen that type of people since this spring.
