A man dining at Granpark restaurant in Södertälje discovered a dead frog in his salad. The incident, which occurred in late August, has prompted an investigation by both the restaurant and local authorities to determine how the frog ended up in the pre-washed spinach. Compass Group, the company operating the restaurant, is reviewing its procedures to prevent future occurrences.

The man had just sat down to enjoy his lunch when he saw it—a lifeless frog in the salad. "We are now investigating how this could happen," the company wrote to Länstidningen Södertälje.
At the Granpark restaurant in Södertälje, a guest made the discovery at the end of August, according to LT.
A man, according to a complaint to the municipality, had settled down after picking lunch from a salad buffet and was about to dig in when he made the discovery: A dead frog on the plate.
After complaining to the staff, the man received a new plate, LT reports.
"Investigating"
The restaurant has been inspected by the municipality following the incident. Both the environmental office and the restaurant suspect that the frog came with pre-washed spinach that was on the buffet table.
The company Compass Group operates the Granpark restaurant at Scania Technical Center.
"We are now investigating how this could happen to see if there is anything we need to adjust in how we work to ensure it doesn't happen again," writes Susanne Moland, head of marketing and communication at Compass Group, to LT in an email.
