Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho Acquitted in Södermalm Murder Case

Three men were convicted in the district court for the murder in Södermalm last May, including Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho. Now, he has been completely acquitted of the charges.

According to the Court of Appeal, more than just Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho may have used the alias involved in the murder planning.

In May last year, police were alerted to Södermalm after a man was shot. When the police arrived, the man was bleeding heavily and later died.

The investigation led to then 17-year-old Emin Duale. Chat conversations revealed that Emin Duale had taken on a murder assignment and arranged to meet the victim under the pretense of a drug deal.

The murder was preceded by careful planning. Emin Duale received instructions on where and whom to target from two accomplices, Benjamin Snell, 21, and Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho, 29.

Life Imprisonment in District Court

Three men were convicted of murder in the district court in April after a murder in Södermalm last May. Two of the men, Benjamin Snell and Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho, were sentenced to life imprisonment, and Emin Duale to 9 years in prison as he was not a minor at the time of the murder.

According to the police investigation, Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho used the alias El Moreno and was deemed by the district court to have played a leading role in the planning and execution of the murder.

Now, Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho has been completely acquitted by the Court of Appeal.

According to the Court of Appeal, it is not certain that only Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho used the alias El Moreno.

"That there is support for others than Dangelo Jobe Sobrinho having used the El Moreno account, even relatively close to the time of the murder, affects the value of the evidence presented in support of the indictment," writes the Court of Appeal.
