Challenging Opinion Polls for Swedish Government Ahead of Election

With a year left until the election, the opinion poll landscape looks challenging for the Swedish government. A new survey by Indikator, commissioned by Ekot, reveals that the ruling coalition garners 44.3% against the opposition's 54.5%.

One of the government's issues is the low support for the Liberals, who receive 2.1% in the poll, marking the lowest figure ever recorded for a parliamentary party in Indikator's surveys, according to Ekot.

"Simona Mohamsson hasn't had much time in her position, but she hasn't managed to turn the tide yet," says opinion chief Per Oleskog Tryggvason to the radio.

The Christian Democrats also fall below the parliamentary threshold. The Sweden Democrats, increasing to 21%, are the largest party in the coalition, while the Moderates come in at 18%.

"It's clearly problematic for the Moderates and Ulf Kristersson to enter the election year with such a situation," says opinion chief Per Oleskog Tryggvason to the radio.
