Busch Defies Kristersson: Brings Her Own Schnapps to the Party
Ulf Kristersson will not be providing schnapps when the government gathers for a crayfish party. Ebba Busch steps in, promising to bring her own drinks.
"I WILL bring the schnapps. Personal responsibility and compassion," she writes in a Facebook comment.
On Thursday, the government will gather as per tradition at the Prime Minister's summer residence in Harpsund. This marks the start of the autumn political work, but also includes a party and a crayfish feast.
However, Ulf Kristersson, like last year, will not be offering any schnapps, reports Aftonbladet.
"Schnapps will not be purchased, but it may have been bought by someone attending," says the Prime Minister's press secretary to the newspaper.
This decision prompts a reaction from the liberal debater and SvD's editorial writer Mattias Svensson.
"Another issue where this government does not deliver," he writes on Facebook.
Busch: "I WILL bring the schnapps"
The Minister of Energy and Business, also the Deputy Prime Minister, quickly reassures ministers and others who believe "crayfish require these drinks."
"But calm down. I WILL bring the schnapps. Personal responsibility and compassion," writes Ebba Busch in a comment.
At the crayfish party in Harpsund, Swedish crayfish from Lake Hjälmaren, cheese pie, salad, and dessert are usually served. In previous years, Harpsund has provided beer, but guests have been allowed to bring their own schnapps.
