Bus Collision in Trelleborg Leaves Several Injured

A regional bus has collided with four cars in central Trelleborg. Four people, including the driver, have been taken to the hospital by ambulance, one with serious injuries.

The accident occurred just before 1:30 PM on Monday when a bus, for unknown reasons, crashed into several cars and a tree on Järnvägsgatan in Trelleborg.

The bus driver and three others have been transported by ambulance to the hospital. The injured include two men and two women. One man is seriously injured, while the others have minor injuries, according to the injury report from Region South.

Several passengers were on the bus when the accident happened.

"As far as I understand, the three people besides the bus driver were in the cars that the bus collided with," says Filip Annas, spokesperson for the police in Region South.

Conducting Interviews with Those Involved

The police are working on-site to facilitate the recovery work and investigate the cause of the accident.

"We are conducting interviews with those involved, those who were in the cars and the bus, and also those who were nearby and may have witnessed the accident, to get as comprehensive a picture as possible of what happened," says Filip Annas.

Currently, there is no suspicion of a crime.

The buses are operated by Skånetrafiken.

The road is currently closed to traffic, and bus services in Trelleborg are also affected.

"The road will remain closed for quite some time until we have removed the vehicles and documented the accident site thoroughly before we can reopen," says Filip Annas.
