British Storms Set to Bring Rain and Thunder to Sweden

The UK is experiencing thunderstorms, heavy rain, and flooding this weekend. The British weather service has warned that the severe weather could pose a threat to life. Soon, Sweden will also experience wet conditions.

Heavy rainfall has been reported in the UK over the past day. The country's meteorological service warned that thunderstorms and flooding could be life-threatening. Although the situation wasn't as severe as feared, many warnings remain in place through Sunday, according to The Guardian and BBC.

Warnings include heavy downpours across large parts of the country. The risk of flooding is significant, especially since the UK has experienced warm weather recently, which makes dry ground less absorbent.

Rain and Storms Expected in Sweden

In recent days, Sweden has enjoyed sunny weather with high temperatures across almost the entire country. However, these pleasant days may be coming to an end as the British stormy weather moves in.

A front with rain and thunderstorms is expected to arrive in southwestern Götaland on Monday evening and is likely to remain over Götaland and southern Svealand on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to SMHI.

"It's a bit uncertain exactly how much it will rain, but currently, it looks like Denmark will receive most of the rain," says SMHI meteorologist Hilda Westberg.

At the same time, another low-pressure system from Germany and Poland may bring rain and cooler temperatures in some areas.

Continued Sunshine in the North

The forecast is uncertain and may change, but it's clear that the weather will be less stable than it has been in recent weeks.

Those who haven't tired of the sun can head to Norrland, where it will remain warm and sunny.

"The high pressure in the north is holding strong," says Hilda Westberg.
