
Billionaire Swallows Bee – Dies During Polo Match
Billionaire and Prince William's friend Sunjay Kapur swallowed a bee during a polo match, leading to his death, reports The Mirror.
The shocking incident occurred when businessman and billionaire Sunjay Kapur was playing polo in the English town of Windsor on Thursday. During the match, he was stung by a bee in the mouth, causing an allergic shock that stopped his heart.
Witnesses told The Telegraph that Kapur said, "I swallowed something" before collapsing on the field.
"He was full of life, laughing, joking – and then gone in an instant," a source told The Mirror.
A severe allergic reaction to a bee sting can be life-threatening but affects only a few people according to 1177. Symptoms can include facial swelling, dizziness, and difficulty breathing.
Worth Over a Billion Dollars
Kapur was born in India and later became an American citizen. He was the CEO of the global auto parts manufacturer Sona Comstar, which praised him in a statement:
"We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our CEO, Mr. Sunjay Kapur. He was a visionary leader whose passion, insight, and dedication shaped the company's identity and success," Sona Comstar said in a statement.
According to Forbes, he was worth $1.2 billion, equivalent to approximately 11.4 billion kronor.
Friend of Prince William
Kapur met Prince William through polo and often socialized with royalty and members of the aristocratic polo circle.
A friend told The Telegraph that Kapur will be deeply missed.
"He will be deeply missed, not only by his family and friends but also by the local community around his club, as he employed so many people and made so many friends – he was funny, kind, and generous," the person said.
Kapur was also known for his high-profile marriages. In 2017, he married actress and model Priya Sachdev, who became his third wife. The couple had one child together.
Before that, he was married to Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, with whom he has two children. She accused him of domestic violence and has said that Kapur once left their sick son to play polo with Prince William.
The prince has not commented on Kapur's death.
Honored Victims of Plane Crash
Hours before his own death, the businessman honored the victims of a plane crash in India.
"Terrible news about the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the affected families. May they find strength in this difficult time," Kapur wrote on X.
