Bianca Ingrosso's Stalker Sentenced to Prison: A Victory Against Harassment
Between October 2024 and May this year, a man was suspected of unlawfully stalking Bianca Ingrosso. On Friday, he was sentenced to five months in prison by the Stockholm District Court.
"It's such a relief that this nightmare is over, and that he won't be able to harass me or any other girl for a while now. I'm proud that I finally dared to report it and that he didn't get away," Bianca Ingrosso commented to Expressen.
Bianca Ingrosso was in Spain with her mother, Pernilla Wahlgren, when the verdict was announced.
"Her lawyer called and read the verdict," said Pernilla Wahlgren.
"She was very relieved and started crying immediately because so many emotions were released."
Wahlgren is proud of her daughter.
"That she has managed to get through everything involved in attending the trial and sitting in the same room as him, and that she has been so strong and gathered all the evidence, it's been insanely much evidence that she also had to sit and go through. Look at and save."
During the trial in the Stockholm District Court two weeks ago, Ingrosso described how the man affected her life.
"I have absolutely had to change my entire daily life. I really have to think about what I write," she said.
"I have totally shut myself in. I didn't even dare to socialize with my family. I felt like a burden."
On Friday, the Stockholm District Court announced that the man was sentenced to five months in prison, which is one month more than the prosecutor had requested.
"This kind of thing must be stopped immediately before it goes too far. It's very important, and I think Bianca can be a role model now. That it was important she did it is also for everyone else who is exposed," said Pernilla Wahlgren to Expressen after the announcement.
Ingrosso's Testimony Crucial
The District Court writes:
"The 38-year-old man has denied making the contacts the prosecutor has alleged. He has stated that he met the plaintiff on several occasions but then broke off contact."
"The plaintiff, in turn, has stated that she does not know the 38-year-old and that they only met on two occasions when he sought her out at her home and outside her office. The District Court trusts the plaintiff's statements."
The man has been in custody since May and has thus already served a large part of the sentence. About two weeks remain. After that, an additional five months of a previously imposed prison sentence for assault, from which he was conditionally released when he began stalking Bianca Ingrosso, remain.
The stalker's lawyer, Hanna Lindblom, writes in a text message:
"We have no comment on the District Court's verdict. The question of a possible appeal will be returned to when I have spoken with my client."
No Compensation: "No No No"
Bianca Ingrosso receives no compensation. This is because she does not want it.
"I was asked if I wanted compensation, but I was like 'no no no no I don't want anything more to do with him, leave me the fuck alone,'" she recently said on her YouTube channel.
She also shares her experience from the trial.
"I thought I would come into the room and see him and feel scared, that he still has control over me. But I felt none of that. I felt I have fucking control over you, you damn idiot."
