Air travel in Sweden saw a significant rise in August, with a 5% increase in passengers compared to last year, according to Swedavia. Arlanda Airport experienced the largest growth, with international travel up by 5% and domestic by 32%.

Air travel continues to attract more passengers. In August, travel increased by five percent compared to the same period last year, according to new statistics from Swedavia.
A total of nearly 3.3 million passengers traveled through Swedavia's airports during the month. The increase was roughly equal in both domestic and international traffic.
The most passengers, 2.4 million, traveled to and from Arlanda outside Stockholm, which saw the largest increase, 8 percent, compared to August last year. International travel from the country's largest airport increased by 5 percent, while domestic travel rose by 32 percent.
The second most, 544,000 passengers, traveled via Landvetter.
During the summer, 22 new flight routes have been opened at Swedavia's airports, including 15 from Arlanda, six from Landvetter, and one from Bromma.
Among the new airlines are Japan's ANA, Romania's Animawings, and Turkey's AJet.
