Arvid Brorsson's Wedding Celebration to be Led by Former Mjällby Teammates

Arvid Brorsson has made a remarkable journey from being benched in Sweden's Superettan to playing in Italy's Serie A in just a few years. This Saturday marks another milestone: his wedding. Former teammates from Mjällby are expected to lead the celebration into the early hours.

In the spring of 2022, Brorsson was striving to secure a spot in Örgryte's starting lineup at the bottom of Superettan. Earlier this year, he made his first start for Monza at Stadio Olimpico against Roma in Serie A.

"It was a significant experience for me personally. It validates that all the hard work pays off, and it fuels my desire to do it again," he said.

When Expressen reached Brorsson, he was in Örebro spending time with family and friends. He reflects on a learning-filled first half-year in Italy after moving from Mjällby in January.

"Initially, the language was a huge adjustment since everything is in Italian. I'm the type to push through challenges, and the conditions for development are truly there. I feel I've grown, and I got more playtime towards the end of the season."

Trained by a Legend

He was brought to Monza by Adriano Galliani, who also signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Milan from Barcelona in 2010.

"Galliani is very involved in matches and training. It's great to see someone so prominent care so much about the team."

The move also meant Brorsson was coached by former defensive general Alessandro Nesta.

"It's very inspiring, and he's excellent with defensive strategies, so I've gained new tools. Off the field, he's warm and friendly, yet demanding and clear on the field. Given his career, it's obvious he knows what's required."

While Monza had a tough season ending in relegation, Brorsson's former club Mjällby is thriving, topping the Allsvenskan after a successful spring.

"It's fantastic to see my old friends doing so well, but I'm not surprised. In Mjällby, hard work is a given, and it's a wonderful group of players, leaders, and staff who support each other like a family."

He notes that the camaraderie in Mjällby stands out compared to other clubs he's been with. The 26-year-old is open to returning in the future.

"We'll see if Hasse (Larsson, Mjällby's sports director) wants me back," Brorsson laughs.

Before that, he's determined to help Monza return to Serie A.

"It's disappointing that the team struggled, but I have two more years on my contract and no other plans. I want to play in the top league again and compete with the best in the world. My goals and dreams are even stronger now than before."

Mjällby's Strikers to Lead Wedding Festivities

First on the agenda, however, is his wedding in Skåne this weekend, where he will reunite with some of his former Mjällby teammates.

"The most prominent media personality attending is probably (Jacob) Bergström. He has quite a reputation."

Will he lead the party into the early hours?

"We'll see. Otherwise, Alex Johansson is quite strong in that area; it's a strong Mjällby group."

Are they good at partying?

"They certainly are."
