AIK Faces Unknown Opponents in UEFA Conference League Qualifiers

Teams from Estonia or Gibraltar await AIK as they prepare for the European qualifiers. The prospect doesn't intimidate them.

"I've never heard of them," says team captain Anton Salétros.

AIK will face either Paide from Estonia or Magpies from Gibraltar in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. These teams will compete in the first qualifying round, with the winner facing AIK. The matches are scheduled for July 10 and 17.

After a training match against Sirius, the players shared their thoughts on the upcoming opponents.

First up: Johan Hove. He mentions that he followed the draw on his phone and is fully aware of who they need to defeat.

"I hadn't heard of the teams, but it's exciting. Hopefully, it's a good opportunity for us to advance," he says.

He reflects further.

"Magpies, Gibraltar, I might have heard of. But the team from Estonia, I don't know much about."

"I've Never Heard of Them"

Anton Salétros and Kristoffer Nordfeldt didn't even know which teams they were drawn against.

"I haven't even thought about it, to be completely honest," says the goalkeeper.

Magpies from Gibraltar or Paide from Estonia.

"Oh. We have more important matches until then. When it's time to focus on them, we will."

"Oh, yes. Yes," Salétros manages to say.

What do you know about them?

"No idea, really. I've never heard of them. But there are many good teams out there in Europe," says the captain.
